Fuel Cell Engineering Research Center (Group Cluster)
Introduction

Fuel cell engineering research center (FCE) works on the key components preparation, stack design and system integration of PEM fuel cells and water electrolysis. FCE aims in establishing a world-class scientific research team with equal emphasis on basic research and engineering development, in breaking through key technologies and in putting forward demonstration in transportation, CHP and other fields. In addition, FCE focuses on the industrialization of PEMFC and strengthens the fuel cell technology chain and industrial chain, with the aim to become a new driving force to promote hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry in Shandong Province.

Prof. SHAO Zhigang, Director of the Fuel Cell Research Department of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Director of the Fuel Cell System Science and Engineering Research Center, Vice Chairman of the Fuel Cell Professional Committee of the China Energy Research Society, Selected into the National "Ten Thousand People Program", etc.. He has been committed to the research and development of fuel cells and has successively presided over more than 30 projects of various types such as National 863, National Key R&D Program, Strategic Pilot Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has filed more than 300 invention patents for key fuel cell materials, core components, and stack systems, among which over 100 have been authorized.

Prof. LI Xiaojin

Prof. LI joined QIBEBT in January 2015, and established the electrochemical process research group which has been merged into the Fuel Cell Engineering Research Center in 2021. His research focuses on design and optimization of key materials and components system integration, process control of PEM fuel cells and key technologies of water electrolysis. He presided over more than 10 projects such as National Key R&D Program, Sino Japanese intergovernmental science and technology cooperation projects and key R & D plans of Shandong Province. He has published more than 40 SCI papers, applied for more than 30 invention patents , including 2 PCT patents, authorized 15 patents.
