QIBEBT is one of the training bases for Master and Doctor of Philosophy students within the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is the first institution contributing to training specialists on the field of new energy. Since its establishment at 2006, more than 800 students have come here for their specialty study.

The Institute has graduated student programs at both Masters and PhD levels in microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, materials, applied chemistry, physical chemistry of materials. There have an excellent team of advisors, all of whom are highly experienced in research and the supervision of postgraduate students. At present, the institute has 186 postgraduate-student Advisors, 82 Master-students Advisors, and 56 adjunct advisors.
