Thermochemical Conversion Group
Introduction

Thermochemical Conversion Group(TCCG) was established in 2008, and currently it has 15 scientific researchers. More than 90% of them have doctor's degree. The group research focuses on gasification/pyrolysis of biomass/coal/combustible solid waste, syngas to liquid fuel, CO2 Capture and storage. TCCG is initiatively dedicated to the promotion and facilitation of sustainable solutions to the energy problems, and has made many efforts on synthesis of high-quality liquid fuels by biomass gasification. At present, TCCG has developed a key technology for production of high-quality jet fuel from biomass gasification via low-carbon olefins and the laboratory verification for this technology has been completed, meanwhile a 100 tons/year pilot plant is under construction.

Director of Center/Group
Prof. WU Jinhu
Prof. WU Jinhu obtained his Ph.D. degree at the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICC, CAS), in 1998. He worked as program manager in Coal Gasification Group from 1998 to 2004, and as the Director of Fundamental Research Department in Coal Gasification Group from 2004 to 2008 at the ICC, CAS. In Feb. 2008, he joined Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), CAS as a faculty member. He is currently a professor and the group leader of Thermochemical Conversion Group (TCCG). His research topics include gasification/pyrolysis of biomass/coal/combustible solid waste, syngas to liquid fuel, CO2 Capture and Storage. In recent 5 years, Prof. Wu has more than 30 publications at academic journals, applied for more than 10 patents.
