On November 15th, Dr. Todd Weppy, Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Justine Li, Vice President, and Dr. Cao Ningjun, Technique Innovation and Fermentation Director of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) visited QIBEBT. Dr. LU Xuefeng, deputy director general of QIBEBT received the delegation.
LU Xuefeng first expressed his welcome to the guests and briefly introduced the overall situation of the scientific and technological layout of the institute. At the meeting, Todd Weppy introduced ADM's main business and development philosophy, R&D capabilities, and selected R&D to industrialization success stories. Dr. CUI Qiu, group lead of the metabolomics, Dr. LIU Tianzhong, group lead of microalgae technology, Dr. LI Xuebing, group lead of heterogeneous catalytic conversion, and Dr. DENG Li, professor of bio-based materials, and other related researchers introduced scientific and technological progress and development direction in the fields of biomass-based products, green conversion of natural fat and oil, and bio-based materials preparation by bio-chemical technology.
Both ADM and QIBEBT agreed that there are several cooperation consensuses and opportunities in the fields of unsaturated fatty acid, microalgae cultivation, biodiesel catalysis, etc., which will be discussed and exchanged in depth.
The ADM delegates also visited the exhibition hall of the institute during the period of visiting.
