A group of 23 college students from state of Bavaria, Germany led by Dr. Peng KUANG, Project Manager of the Bavarian Academic Center for China (BayCHINA), visited Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on August 18.  

These college students learned the research orientations and S&T achievements of 6 research groups of QIBEBT, and showed strong interests. Then two lectures were given by Dr. XIN Hongchuan, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department of QIBEBT. One is "Overview of QIBEBT", and the other is "China's Urbanization". The visitors were very active in the discussion session, and Mr. GAO Xuguang, Office Director of Qingdao Innovation & Incubation Center for Industry Technology of CAS, answered their questions related to China's urbanization. Anna Lelickens, an exchange student of QIBEBT from University of Stuttgart, also joined the activity. 

On the basis of this successful visit, BayCHINA is planning to further promote the collaboration between universities and institutions in state of Bavaria and QIBEBT in the aspects of student training, researcher exchange and project cooperation. The summer school will also help to attract more international students as master students, PhD students or postdoctors studying or working at QIBEBT.
