The Symposium of Joint Research Laboratory for Sustainable Aviation Biofuels (JRLSAB) was held at Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 14. JRLSAB was co-founded by the Boeing Company and QIBEBT in 2010. Dr. Junlei SUN, Environment Research Lead of Boeing Research & Technology - China, and Dr. Chao MIAO, Aviation Biofuel Researcher of Boeing Research & Technology - China, attended the symposium. The symposium was hosted by Prof. LU Xuefeng, Deputy Director General of QIBEBT and Director of JRLSAB. 

The project leaders of JRLSAB presented research progress of ongoing projects and proposed further plans. Dr. Junlei SUN highly appreciated the long-term and continuous collaboration between Boeing Company and QIBEBT based on the co-funded JRLSAB, and confirmed the recent progress of the five ongoing projects. The two sides also had a deep discussion on the cooperation modes for the following projects and reached preliminary consensus on the key projects to be deployed in the next phase. The symposium will definitely promote the sustainable development of JRLSAB and strengthen the stable strategic partnership between the two sides.
