Professor Zhang gave a talk titled “Encapsulation and Micromanipulation: from Fundamentals to Industrial Applications”. Professor Zhang introduced the development history of micromanipulation technique and its application on the characterization of mechanical strength of biological and non-biological particles and the interaction between biofilm and substratum, and the fabrication methods of functional microcapsules. Professor Zhibing Zhang then discussed with audiences and answered their questions. After that, Professor LIU Tianzhong, Group lead of Microalgae Energy at QIBEBT introduced the work of microalgae biofuel research of the institute.

Professor Zhang and Liu have finally approached a collaboration research proposal on the characterization of attachment between microalgae biofilm on substratum.
