On 13 August 2009, CSIRO International Senior Advisor Dr. Ta-Yan Leong visited the QIBEBT. Deputy Director General Xichao Zhao met with Dr. Leong and introduced the research and development, management and operation of the QIBEBT.

Dr. Leong then went on to visit the Open Laboratory and heard introduction about the on-going projects.
