May 12, 2009. President Xinhe Bao of Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenyang Branch, and President Assistant Xiaobin Wang who is also the Director General of the CAS Shandong Technology Transfer Center accompanied the delegates from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and BP to the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology. Deputy Director General Xichao Zhao holds the meeting and the PIs in the QIBEBT attended.

　　During the meeting, Professor Jian Xu, on behalf of the Institute, introduced the research and development, management and operation of QIBEBT. Dr. Jud Virden, Director of Energy Programs in Energy and Environment Directorate of PNNL and Dr. Yong Wang, Research Fellow, presented the research capabilities and progress of PNNL respectively. BP's Director of Advanced Technology, Dr. Steve Wittrig gave a brief talk with the theme on the science and technology cooperation between BP and China. The Delegates and PIs further discussed the potential cooperation on researchers and students exchange and joint project research and development. President Bao concluded the meeting and expressed the wishes to realize a tangible cooperation.
