On January 15th, 2009, Professor Van Der Meer and Doctor Lixian XU visit Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology and give a talk on latest research hotspot. Deputy Director Dongzhi WEI holds the seminar and the experts exchange opinions and ideas with these researchers and students from thermo chemical team. In the seminar, Department of Science and Technology briefly introduces the management and operation of QIBEBT. Then Professor van der Meer gives a talk with the theme on “sustainable energy and greenhouse gases emission”. Prof Jinhu WU introduces research progress of the thermo chemical conversion of biomass to these guests. Both sides express the wish to strengthen cooperation in the areas of academic research. The guests then have a brief tour around the campus of QIBEBT after the seminar. They are impressed by the public laboratory operating mode and the campus construction work.
