Advanced Organic Functional Material & Device Group
Introduction

The Advanced Organic Funtional Material and Device was established in April 2009. There are 6 employees in the team, 5 of whom have doctoral degrees.There are 7 graduate students (4 with doctor's degree and 3 with master's degree) and 7 joint graduate students.The team members have a wide range of academic backgrounds and experiences in the fields of chemistry, materials, devices (physics) and sensing.

Prof. BAO Xichang
Dr.BAO Xichang conducted researches in Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, CAS, has been commited to the research of photoelectric materials, devices and mechanisms as well as nanometer functional materials,and has obtained a series of research results. Presided and participated in more than 10 projects of JW Science and Technology Commission, International cooperation of ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shandong Major projects. Up to now, he has published more than 100 articles, and his articles have been cited more than 2,000 times. He has also authorized 5 Chinese invention patents. The graduated students under his guidance (including the joint students) won the title of Outstanding Graduate of Shandong Province, national scholarship and other honors. At present, he is mainly engaged in the research and application of photoelectric materials and photoelectric devices, nanometer and functional materials.
Research Interest
1. Develop electron donor and acceptor materials with wide spectral range, high mobility and easy device-processing, improve the energy conversion efficiency of cell devices, and study the key technologies of printing cell devices; Development and research of polymer materials for special fields.           
2. Research of high response materials in near infrared range,for its design and synthesis ,preparation with high quality and low cost , device technology and application.          
3. The design and synthesis of nanoscale functional materials, and its functional regulation of surface interface. Combine nanomaterials with various materials by employing the particularity of nanomaterials, to achieve applications with special functions , such as interface functional materials and the application in binding biology.

Representative Research
The group has been established for more than 10 years, adhering to the spirit of innovation and forge ahead, has made a series of leading achievements in the field, and has presided over the completion of more than 20 scientific research projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shandong Province and so on, has published more than 100 papers in AM,EES, AEM and other authoritative journals.
