Air Vice Marshal Poomjai Leksuntarakorn, Director of the Strategic Studies Center of the National Defense Studies Institute, led a 6-member delegation from Thailand visited Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on June 20th, 2019. Dr. Zhang Xuegang, the deputy director of the Institute of Southeast Asian & Oceanian Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, and colleagues accompanied the Thai delegation. The meeting was chaired by Professor CHUNG Kenghuat.
Professor CHUNG introduced the construction background of QIBEBT and highlighted the cooperation with institutions in Thailand. Air Vice Marshal Leksuntarakorn introduced the mission and areas of focus of the Strategic Studies Center. The two sides discussed the future development trend of energy, and further discussed exchanges and cooperation on areas of common interest such as biofuels and energy storage.
During the visit, the guests also visited the exhibition hall of QIBEBT.
