A bilateral bioenergy science and technology workshop, co-organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences' Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) and Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), was launched in Qingdao on Dec 15. The two delegations were led by LIU Zhongmin, the deputy director general of DICP, and PENG Hui, the deputy director general of QIBEBT, respectively. 

The workshop focused on topics the two institutions were interested in, such as biomass transformation and novel battery technology, with totally 16 presentations within the one-day meeting. Both fundamental research and industrial application of related bioenergy technology were concerned in the discussion session. 

The workshop may facilitate mutual understanding and future collaboration between DICP and QIBEBT.
