The Academic Committee meeting of the Key Laboratory of Biofuels of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (KLBCAS), was held at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on Mar 27. 

The Academic Committee of KLBCAS is headed by Prof. OUYANG Pingkai (CAE academician, Nanjing Tech University). Firstly, Prof. LIU Huizhou, the Director General of QIBEBT, delivered an opening remark. Associate Prof. BAI Xuerui from CAS' Key Laboratory Office introduced the overall framework of CAS' key laboratories, and expected KLBCAS to get a good mark in CAS' evaluation next year. Secondly, Prof. LU Xuefeng, the Director of KLBCAS, summarized the achievements of this laboratory in the past five years, and proposed the development planning in the next five years. Thirdly, four key lectures about enzymatic saccharification of lignocellulose, screening and attached cultivation of filamentous oleaginous microalgae, hydrolysis of carbon-containing materials, and industrialization technology of biogas production, were delivered by Prof. CUI Qiu, Prof. LIU Tianzhong, Prof. WU Jinhu, and Prof. GUO Rongbo, respectively. 

All committee members raised their comments with respect to the five abovementioned lectures, and finally reached a consensus: KLBCAS has made a number of significant achievements in both basic research and industrial application.
