QIBEBT-editing Book on Sustainable Production of Bulk Chemicals Published by Springer
Sustainable Production of Bulk Chemicals: Integration of Bio-, Chemo-Resources and Processes, edited by Prof. XIAN Mo from Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has been recently published online by Springer. Investigators and engineers in the fields of bulk chemical production are now looking at near term opportunities and long term advances of sustainable resources, green processes and technologies for chemical production. The purpose of the book is to bring readers up-to-date with the many new discoveries in the interdisciplinary field of bio-, chemo- synthesis of chemicals and to resonate with them of our ideas for sustainable chemical production.
The book is composed of six chapters written by experts from Germany, UK and China. The lead chapter reviews the history of bulk chemicals production, the bottleneck questions for bio-synthesis and chemical synthesis, and recent advances in bio-, chemo- hybrid ways for chemical production. Next chapters describe in detail our current understanding of the models which incorporates of the concepts and techniques of synthetic chemistry, chemical engineering, synthetic biology and bioengineering.
The book will provide a reference source for laboratory and industrial professionals in a number of chemical and biological disciplines (synthetic chemistry, synthetic biology, chemical engineering, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, etc.).
The editor Prof. XIAN Mo is currently a professor, the leader of Bio-based Chemicals Group, the director of Biobased Materials Division, the director of CAS Key Laboratory of Bio-based Materials, and the assistant director general of QIBEBT.
