Prof. Robert Kelly Visits QIBEBT
Prof. Robert KELLY from North Carolina State University (NC State University) was invited to visit Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences on October 19. Prof. KELLY currently serves as the Editor for Applied and Environmental Microbiology.
Prof. KELLY gave a presentation titled “The Biology and Biotechnology of Extremely Thermophilic Microorganisms: Genes, Genomes and Genetics”. He mainly introduced three aspects of his research, i.e. the genes, genetics and genomes of extremely thermophilic microorganisms. The talk gave important guidance for the study of extremely thermophilic microorganism. The lecture was hosted by Prof. LI Fuli, Group Leader of Microbiology Resource Group of QIBEBT.
During his stay at QIBEBT, Prof. KELLY visited Microbiology Resource Group and shared his experience with researchers and students, which laid good foundation for potential collaboration between NC State University and QIBEBT.
