The Second Youth Academic Salon was open at Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on September 7. Prof. SUI Hongjian, Deputy Director General of QIBEBT, attended the opening ceremony. Prof. LU Xuefeng, Deputy Director General of QIBEBT and Chairman of the Youth Federation of QIBEBT, hosted the ceremony and delivered a speech. The poster session for the Youth Academic Salon lasted a week.  

The Youth Academic Salon was co-organized by the Youth Federation of QIBEBT, the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS and Students' Union of QIBEBT, with young researchers, post-doctors and graduate students as the main participants. The salon aims to present academic achievements or innovative thinking and encourage young people to break the restrictions of various areas, so as to create a good atmosphere for scientific practice. After voting by experts and audience, HUANG Xuenian (Microbial Metabolic Engineering Group), HAN Lei (Biosensing Group), ZHENG Jie (Modeling and Simulation Group), and CHAI Jingchao (Biomimetics for Energy Storage Group) won the Best Poster Award. 

The Youth Federation of QIBEBT will continue to organize a series of themed activities and provide mutual exchange platforms for young researchers, in order to promote the cohesion and growth of youth talents.
