The CLIB-Qingdao Biotechnology Workshop, co-sponsored by Qingdao Science and Technology Exchange Center, Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie e.V. (CLIB) and Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held at Qingdao on April 22-23, 2015. 

More than 100 academic experts, industrial elites and students from CLIB, Qingdao and Shandong Province, participated in the first-day workshop, where a total of 23 invited lectures and 14 posters were delivered. The lectures covered several topics in the areas of biotechnology, including the updated scientific and technological advances, international collaboration and technology transfer, etc. 

During the second-day workshop, the delegates from CLIB also visited local enterprises and organizations, such as Vland Biotech Group, Blue Biomedicine Department and Technology Transfer Market of Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Sino-German Ecopark. The workshop has contributed to mutual understanding between participants from CLIB and Qingdao, and will lay a good foundation for further cooperation in biotechnology between Germany and China.
