Boeing R&T VP visits QIBEBT

The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) team composed of Vice President & General Manager Matthew Ganz, Managing Director Paul Pasquier, vice president of BR&T-China Al Bryant and Research Program and University Relations Manager Joe Yin pay a visit to the QIBEBT on October 21, 2010.

The visit is to investigate the operation and research activities carried out in the Joint Research Laboratory for Sustainable Aviation Biofuels. Director General WANG Lisheng, deputy director general ZHAO Xichao and deputy director general PENG Hui receive the BR&T team.

VP Ganz and the team visit the Joint Laboratory and hear the report form Joint Laboratory director LU Xuefeng about the program layouts. The guests also learnt from 5 project leads on the research progresses.

Director general WANG indicated in his welcome message that China’s first demonstration system for microalgae aviation biofuels will be built up by the end of the first three-year collaboration. And the mutual benefit cooperation will contribute to a low-carbon aviation industry.

VP Ganz expressed that The Boeing Company values the cooperation with the QIBEBT and he was appreciated for the meaningful relationship established by both side in such a short time. He hopes the collaborative R&D on the microalgae aviation biofuels will contribute a low carbon future for China and the whole world. Ganz also said the Boeing looking forward further working together with the Institute.

The visit paid by the leadership of Boeing Research & Technology paves the way for sound development of the Joint Laboratory.
