On April 4th, 2008, three bioenergy experts from Dutch Shell Global Solutions Company visit our institute. This is the first time that we collaborate with international enterprise. Deputy Director, Xichao ZHAO holds a seminar to exchange ideas with these experts. The experts give a talk with the title “Shell biofuels”, where they introduce the development situation of Shell liquid biofuel, talk about the necessity to develop the second-generation liquid biofuel. They also mention about the collaboration mode they do with these research organizations. After the presentation, Dr. Jian XU describe current situation of our institute and the specific research directions, mainly focusing on liquid biofuel and biogasification. Researchers from our institute exchange their research experience with these experts from Shell. This visit provides great basis for future collaboration between these two organizations.
