Group Leader

Dr. Jinhu Wu. Professor. Winner of “Mount Tai Scholarship Program” awarded by Shandong Province. Member of Chinese Bioenergy Association Committee. Chief Expert of the Key Laboratory for Biomass Gasification Technology of Shandong Province. Prof.Wu received his Ph.D. degree at the Institute of Coal Chemistry, CAS, in 1998. He has been PI for several projects supported by NSFC, National Basic Research Program (973) and National High-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863). He has published 80 papers; obtained 10 Chinese national invent patents, 1 first prize of state-level award and 1 second prize of state-level awards, respectively. His research interests are mainly focusing on fuel conversion and process scale-up & engineering.

Research Area and Projects

Based on the energy and environment requirement, Thermo chemical Conversion Group (TCC) specializes in the R&D of the key technologies including biomass torrefaction, pyrolysis, gasification, bio-oil upgrading, syngas conversion ,carbon capture and storage,effluent disposal, solid waste utilization and bio-ash synthesizing zeolite via thermochemical and catalytical chemical methods. By integration of the above unit technology, we aim to create a sustainable biomass conversion system.
