    FU Chunxiang obtained his Ph.D in botany from Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Science in 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as postdoctoral researcher associate in the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, USA, and then was promoted to manager of plant transformation facility at the Noble. In Sept. 2013 he joined Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, CAS as a faculty member. He is currently a professor and the leader of Bioenergy Crop Molecular Breeding group in Bioenergy division. He has published over 50 research papers on leading journals such as PNAS, Plant Biotechnology Journal and Biotechnology for Biofuels etc., and applied for more than 14 patents. He has served as regular reviewer for Plant Biotechnology Journal, Biotechnology for Biofuels and Journal of Experimental Botany. 

    Research Interests 

    1) Genetic improvement of bioenergy and forage crops for utilization of lignocellulosic biomass

    2) Phytoremediation of contaminated soils

    3) Development of the highly efficient plant transformation system
